I freely admit that much of my fondness for this episode is not so much because it's hilarious (although there are moments) as for the camaraderie of the cast, including a much missed Mike McShane. That Josie has missed him, and he her, is clear especially in their Duet about a paperweight. There's quite a bit of Ryan/Josie, particularly in their FATS and his attempt to comfort her for "losing" at reading the credits, but also some Greg/Josie and Greg/Ryan, as in the Standing Sitting Bending* set in a singles bar. (And Josie seems to like that Greg calls himself Tongue Deeply in this second Newscast about Bo Peep.) Greg seems happy to work with both of his good buddies, and there's just generally a relaxed, happy chemistry, as when Mike accidentally swears, and Ryan deadpanly says, "Would you come home waggin' your tail if a 300-pound woman was pissin' on ya?" The American Musical doesn't exactly have good songs but it's fun to see the foursome rock out as the Bitchen Wallabies.
This is the 2300th show I've reviewed.
*The name varies throughout the series. But then, Film and Theatre Styles was called Genre Option on the Pilot.
