This episode gives more for both Willoughby and Brandon to do than they had in the '95 version, and arguably in the book. Even Edward gets his first visit to Barton Cottage restored. Miss Steele pops back up from the book. The Palmers on the other hand are short-changed. Note that Edward being described as shy and diffident doesn't fit this version of Edward.
