New series, new opening credits, new director (Bould), and a new regular, a pre-cynical Greg Proops.  (Or at least this is not the jaded Greg Proops As We Now Know Him.)  After several introductions that indicated that John Sessions was indispensable, he is dispensed with and things are just fine.  Not spectacular but it's an amiable episode, with a strong American Musical and one of the better credit-readings (or singings), Greg as Elvis Costello.

Proops and McShane were good friends already, and in fact McShane had told Proops about WLIIA?  We can see the beginnings of Greg's chemistry with Josie and Tony, and the continuation of Mike's with each.  Not a lot of shipping fodder though, just a bit of Josie/Mike and then a bit of Josie/Greg towards the end.  (And no Josie/Tony, surprisingly.)  It's still early days though.
