Richard Day wrote this episode that's most notable for the introduction of Peter Barnes (played by Patrick Bristow), here an enthusiastic volunteer at the charity, and later Ellen's gay friend.  The celebrity names that are dropped (Keanu Reeves et al.) are still recognizable ones, although the amazement over a big-screen TV feels dated.  We here learn that Adam is a photographer, although it seemed like in the first season he had various office jobs.
