M*A*S*H: Baby, It's Cold Outside

M*A*S*H: Baby, It's Cold Outside
CBS
November 13, 1978
Dramedy
DVD
C+

Not long after it was hot and then stormy, it's now freezing in Korea.  Charles gets a very nice, warm jacket but selfishly keeps it for himself, even though there are patients suffering.  Meanwhile, Klinger goes temporarily deaf, Sonja Henie skates in a movie, and Radar has become an idiot who doesn't know who the Rockettes are.

David Cramer makes his first M*A*S*H appearance, as a Patient.  Jan Jorden (Baker) and Sal Viscuso (PA Announcer) return.  Gary David Goldberg, who'd done three scripts for later Bob Newhart Show episodes, contributed this forgettable one for M*A*S*H.

It's hard to care about Larry or his travel agency, but I do like the set decorations during Emily's promotions for the business.

The Bob Newhart Show: Love Is the Blindest

The Bob Newhart Show: Love Is the Blindest

Gary David Goldberg's second BNS story is funny, sometimes very funny-- Howard's "What do you know about international law?" was my favorite line-- although Mr. Carlin's girlfriend being OK with him repeatedly lying to her feels odd.  I like how the motif of Emily's matchmaking continues.  Note the Captain and Tennille reference.  Will Mackenzie doesn't appear in this episode but he directed and, like Bonerz, would become quite successful at it.

This is the 200th TV program I've given a B to.

The Bob Newhart Show: Et Tu, Carol?

I couldn't find this picture earlier, so have
this now since I can't find the Buddha clock

This is the first of three BNS scripts by Gary David Goldberg, who'd go on to Family Ties.  There's some de ja vu to it, as Bob notes when he can't believe Carol is quitting again.  (And I'm pretty sure the "Tippy is a touch typist" joke and Phil's reply have come up before.)  Still, I like how Emily and Carol's friendship comes across, and how they both handle Bob.  And Howard's Buddha clock is great!

Shirley O'Hara makes her last appearance as Debbie Flett.  This is Daily's 100th episode.
