On the one hand, it's wonderful to see the series in vivid color, from the Skipper and Gilligan's primary-colored costumes to the tropical flowers. And on the other hand, the second season kicks off with a plot (the first by Budd Grossman) about whether Gilligan will marry a fat native girl so that the castaways can go to the other island and perhaps be rescued. It is nice to see the Professor (now mentioned in the opening credits, along with Mary Ann) show off his expertise on native languages and customs. Ginger of course tries to use the universal language of vamping, on the rival suitor. And, yes, that is Jim Backus's wife Henny as the title character. Russ Grieve and Eddie Little Sky play natives on other episodes, while Mary Foran (the native girl) would show up on That Girl.
