This is the last and weakest of the three appearances of Reverend Snow, although it does have its moments, like Chrissy's admiration of The Muppet Movie and her roommates telling her how much they'd miss her.  (One tries not to look at the latter with the bitterness of hindsight.)  Baser & Weiskopf wrote the script and I think the title is a pun, with Chrissy thinking her father is stepping out (cheating on) her mother, as well as him stepping out of Fresno into Santa Monica, and perhaps also him stepping out of his accustomed role in telling the prudish chairwoman off.

This is the last credit for Ric Carrott, who plays Rick; he was Ronnie on The Bob Newhart Show, and was only thirty at this point, so I don't know if he died young or just left acting.
