In the "Jamaica" episode, Angela was surprised that incoming sophomore Tony hadn't yet picked a major. In this story by Clay Graham, he takes an aptitude test and decides to major in Business, but a student-teaching job gives him a new direction and purpose. Angela is very proud of him.
Steven Gilborn, who plays Dr. Purcell, would be Ellen's father on Ellen. Anne Haney, who plays Mrs. Bunch, was Mrs. Le Daux on Bosom Buddies.
