John Boni's last of three 3'sC stories is another one of those that is implausible even by the standards of the series.  Jack's grandmother calls him to say that his grandfather is on his way to visit.  When his grandfather was very sick last year, Jack lied and said he'd become a doctor, because Grandpa always wanted him to become a professional man.  So when Grandpa shows up*, Jack drags Janet and Terri into his ruse.  When Janet told her parents she got married, because of her father's ulcer, it was much more believable, because she lived with Jack and could fake being married to him.  But somehow Grandpa Tripper believes that Jack suddenly did med school and everything?

Toni Lamond, who was Mr. Peterson's wife on The Bob Newhart Show, plays the Patient.  And this is the episode where Cindy teaches Janet to dance the Pogo.

*Edward Andrews at 67 looks too young to be Ritter's father and is only nine years older than Dick Shawn, who would later play Jack's father.  Andrews was Principal Bannister on The Bob Newhart Show.
