David Mirkin's reworking of Season One's "No Children, No Pets" isn't bad.  It lacks a great overheard conversation like the one of Jack and Chrissy in the kitchen with the puppy, but it does have four kittens, one of whom Mr. Furley quickly becomes fond of.  (It's not unlike Ruth and the kitten on Bosom Buddies, where a character who's lonelier than they'd like to admit is able to expression affection with a new pet.)  The eight-year-old girl named Muffit is played by nine-year-old Kaleena Kiff, who had recently costarred as Patti with Tony Randall on Love, Sidney.
