David Mirkin wrote this story where Janet gives dating advice to Mr. Furley's shy 18-year-old nephew, Marc (19-year-old Brian Robbins a few years before he'd play a high school student as a regular on Head of the Class), while he fixes a stereo she bought as a surprise for her roommates. Of course Jack assumes she's dating Marc, after overhearing them in a restaurant. Marc presumably is the son of Bart and thus the brother of Veronica, who dated Jack's "twin brother Austin." Anyway, considering that Jack has, one, dated a woman about 15 years older than he was, and two, dated Larry's 19-year-old sister, his attitude here is definitely hypocritical. Of course, Janet is shocked when the candy-striper Terri sent over to distract Marc, Julie Lipton (20-year-old Julie Piekarski, who we last saw on the Facts of Life spin-off episode of Diff'rent Strokes), comes on to Jack.
