Maybe this is the funniest Journey video. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song (one I don't remember from the time), but the visualization of it manages to incorporate a slew of mid-'80s music video cliches, among them:
- A small room with changing light and furniture,
- A guy singing alone in his bed,
- The band "acting" the lyrics,
- Literalism, as the band falls against a blue-sky background,
- And a rip-off/homage to Davey Jones's walking-into-a-wall shuffle at the end of "Daydream Believer."
Some of this would be parodied/ kicked up to a whole other level in Squeeze's playful, surrealistic "Hourglass" four years later.
