This Pollock & Davis story is mainly notable for the appearance of 28-year-old Patrick Swayze as Private Gary Sturgis.  His character wants to donate blood to his best buddy but Sturgis turns out to have leukemia.  Meanwhile, the usually easy-going Father Mulcahy gets spun up about the visit of a cardinal.

Tom Kindle, who played three characters on Mork & Mindy, makes his first of two appearances as a nameless GI.  G.W. Bailey (Rizzo), Roy Goldman (as Roy Goldman), Jeff Maxwell (Straminsky), Kellye Nakahara (Yamato), and Dennis Troy (this time as Dennis) return.  Morgan directed.
