April Kelly wrote this story where Fred's brother Dave visits. Dave is played by Jonathan Winters, and part of the fun of the episode is seeing how absolutely fascinated Williams looks by him. Winters of course would be back the next season, as Mindy's son rather than uncle, but we didn't know that at the time. I think back then I was more intrigued by the concept of "fleck," the Orkan dessert that makes Mindy and then Dave flip out. (I did not get that this was probably a sort of drug reference.)
Beverly Sanders, who was Rita Merrit in the first Love Boat TV-movie, plays Dave's wife Caroline.
