Miriam Trogdon's first of five Roseanne scripts takes awhile to set up, but it's fun to see the alliances and rivalries come together, like Darlene and D.J. teaming up, with David not taking their side till he's mad at Roseanne, who gets Fred on her side because he wants to go out again with Jackie, who still doesn't want a relationship. (Dan doesn't really get involved in the scheming.) Unlike the Who's the Boss? episode called "Party Politics," we don't actually see anything of the party (in this case, Jackie's housewarming) beyond preparations.
