Amy Sherman wrote this season-opener, where both Roseanne and David are having a hard time dealing with Darlene's impending departure.  (Dan and Jackie seem fine with it, and D.J. is hardly in the episode.)  David, out of desperation, proposes to Darlene, but when she says that's a stupid idea, he says he'll start seeing other girls.  As for Roseanne, we see much more of how she's dealing with the emptying of her nest, and indeed by the end of the episode she's decided she'd like to have a baby.  Dan agrees and they have condom-less sex.  Before that though, Roseanne takes things out on Darlene, although they do have a nice mother-daughter chat when Roseanne sleeps over in Darlene's new apartment.  (It's implied that Darlene will get a roommate later.)  Note that the opening credits are Becky-less, for the moment.
