Richard Day wrote this episode where Ellen tells her mother, "You don't need a man to be happy," but Lois nonetheless fixes her up with a man whom Ellen remembers from twenty years ago as a very weird boy.  It turns out he's pretty normal, but Ellen's behavior makes him think she's weird.
