Gene Thompson, who'd written two Bob Newhart Show episodes at this point, contributes his only one for Brady, unfortunately one of my least favorites for Peter.  The middle brother gets and quickly loses his first job, becoming "a failure at 14."  Mike and Carol reassure him that losing jobs happens to everyone, but as events would prove, Peter's bad start did not bode well for his future.  Robert Reed directs for the third of four times in the series.
