While it's nice to see a pre-WKRP Tim Reid as Dee's school psychologist, I have issues with his behavior and that of Dee and her mother in this Eisenstock & Mintz story.  If he wanted to tell Dee's mother that she's thinking about running away, I think a face-to-face meeting would be better, especially since Mrs. Thomas comes in the next day on her own anyway.  Dee of course exploits the situation, having Roger cater to her whims.  And I could see if Mama wanted to spank Dee or make her do chores (even though I don't generally approve of spanking), but both is excessive.
