Harold J. Stone, who was Dubov on Gilligan's Island a dozen years earlier, is well cast as Gabe's father Charlie. He looks enough like Kaplan, and fits what Gabe has said about his father so far. We find out that he runs a successful souvenir shop in Florida, as well as that he has a brother Saul and another son, Melvin the doctor. And he seems to get along with Woodman, whom he calls Mikey. Nick Arnold and Peter Meyerson wrote this episode.
Welcome to the President Carter era. We'll be here awhile, especially when we hit next season, with six regular series. Or is it seven?
