This is equivalent to the British version, which writers Wayne & Burditt closely follow.  It does have the thing about Jack wearing his bathing suit as underwear, as well as the debut of William Pierson as Dean Travers, here working in the finance department of Jack's cooking school rather than running the whole establishment.  At this point, no one has been terribly shocked or titillated at the trio's living situation, but Travers can't get over it.  (It was less of a big deal on Man About the House, but it will remain amazing to outsiders throughout this show's run.)

Policeman Joey Forman was Jackie Flash on M*A*S*H.  This short first season averages to a B, even with the weaker episodes factored in.  The series was off to a good start, with solid writing based on the original, and a cast with arguably better chemistry.
