I like how this episode is about jealousy in a different way than the John Tobin one.  Ellen never meets Howard's ex-girlfriend Jennifer, and the audience and Emily never see Bob's ex Gloria Webster, but the men's pasts, and how much the women know about them, ricochet off each other throughout the story.  We also find out that, back in Seattle, Emily simultaneously dated two men who were tuna fishermen together.  This is the first of eleven BNS episodes 34-year-old James Burrows directed.
