It's a little hard to believe this won an Emmy, with its sub-Peanuts animation (from Bill Melendez et al.) and corny, rambling story.  Yet there is still some small charm to it more than 40 years later and criticizing it feels a bit like kicking a puppy.

Peter Haas, who had a nameless role in the After School Special "The Eighteenth Emergency," here provides the voice of Tommy.  Ken Samson, who does Papa's voice, would be an Expectant Father on Welcome Back, Kotter.  And, yes, that's Jim Backus as the Narrator, giving a Magoo touch to the "ho ho ho."
