George Yanok co-wrote this with a couple writers who haven't written any other of my shows. It's a nice showcase for Epstein, who is temporarily discouraged from his Kotter-induced dream of becoming a veterinarian. (His brother Sanchez is a veteran.) He even gets to do a Harpo-esque Gookie. The idea of students learning via videocassettes and computers was one that came up sometimes in the '70s, although no one really guessed how things would play out in the next four decades.
