This first of three M*A*S*H scripts by John W. Regier and first of five by Gary Markowitz (both credited onscreen by just last names) is surprisingly progressive for its time, although it supports my theory that the series understood homophobia before it recognized sexism (including its own). The title character has been gay-bashed by some of the men in his unit, so Hawkeye is sympathetic and Frank wants him to receive an honorable discharge. The B I'm awarding is not just for p.c. points; I also like some of the whimsy, like Radar seeing a Nativity scene in Henry's ear.
It's apparently lazy-naming week, since George F. Simmons plays Simmons, Bobbie Mitchell becomes Nurse Mitchell, and Patricia Stevens turns into Nurse Stevens.
